Dr Geoff Cooper

I am a locally trained orthopaedic surgeon who has completed three fellowships covering joint replacement, adult reconstruction and upper limb surgery in Canada, Switzerland and Perth. I have been treating patients at Joondalup Health Campus since 2006 and currently treat both Public and Private patients. I also operate at Glengarry Private Hospital in Duncraig.

I have special interests in joint arthroplasty, particularly using patient specific instrumentation and the Mako robot. I also have a special interest in knee and shoulder disorders where new techniques allow less invasive surgery with a more rapid recovery.

My philosophy is that life is about 'living' and this drives much of my patient management. At the same time, I believe that the human body is a great healer and may often heal itself. Surgery can be a part of the solution but I have always prided myself on discussing all of the options with patients and not just relying on the surgical options.

One of the reasons I enjoy my work so much is the general and wide range of conditions (and people) that come through the door. It is very satisfying being able to effectively treat people so that they can resume the activities that they enjoy.
